居住在法国不列塔尼的八岁男孩卢卡斯和爸爸罗曼相依为命，他们在自己的农场里养了二十多头牛，从小梦想旅行的罗曼给每头牛取了极具异国风情的名字。
当罗曼刚接手农场时，他送给妈妈一只品种相当特别的牛，名为法朵。不久妈妈怀上卢卡斯，却因难产离世。过了将近8年，法朵因生产小牛爱娃而死，照顾小牛的任务就落在了卢卡斯身上。
